Asset President – Olympic Dam, BHP Australia
Jacqui McGill is the Asset President of Olympic Dam in BHP Billiton’s Minerals Australia business, and was appointed on the 1st June 2015. Prior to her leadership at Olympic Dam, Jacqui was the Asset President of BHP Billiton Mitsui Coal (BMC). Over her 25 plus years of resource experience she has worked in a range of commodities including Iron Ore with BHP Billiton and prior to joining BHP she held a number of senior operational roles in the uranium and gold sectors.
At Olympic Dam Jacqui leads a team that has delivered a substantial improvement in performance including the highest level of production since 2006, and a 29% reduction in costs, as part of a vision to transform Olympic Dam into a safe, reliable and globally competitive business.
In 2012, Jacqui was recognised for her contribution to the industry by the Queensland Resources Council (QRC), in which she received a Highly Commended Award in the Women in Resources Overall Award. This was followed in 2015 with Jacqui winning the Gender Diversity Champion Resources award in Queensland and winning the Women in Resources National Awards. At Olympic Dam, Jacqui has formed the first gender-balanced leadership team in BHP Billiton.
Jacqui holds a BSc Mineral Science from Murdoch University, and an MBA from La Trobe University. She lives in Adelaide with her husband Chris.
