Complaints lodged with the Equal Opportunity Commission
If a complaint is made against you or your business to the Equal Opportunity Commission, it means:
- people believe they have been discriminated against, harassed or victimised
- they have contacted the Equal Opportunity Commission and lodged a written complaint
- from the information they have provided, the alleged behaviour may be against the law
- the Equal Opportunity Commission has appointed a conciliator to deal with the complaint.
The Equal Opportunity Commission wants to hear your version of events. Fair treatment for all is paramount and everyone's rights are respected. You will be contacted, given a summary of the complaint and the opportunity to respond.
This section tells you how to respond to a complaint and explains our complaint procedure.
