Complaint summaries
The complaint summaries in this section are based on actual complaints that have been made to the Equal Opportunity Commission since July 2005. These complaints have all been resolved, generally following conciliation.
Conciliation is a face to face meeting held by one of the Commission's conciliation officers where the people directly involved in the complaint talk about the matter and look for ways to resolve it.
You can browse complaint summaries by the type of complaint (e.g., disability, race) and the place that it happened (e.g., employment, education) or you can list them by year.
Names and other identifying details have been changed for confidentiality.
