NDIS National Quality and Safeguards Framework

NDIS National Quality and Safeguards Framework
– Public Consultation

A quality and safeguarding framework is being developed for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

Australian governments are looking at ways to make sure that the national scheme will provide good quality supports and will maximise the choice and control of participants. It will also be important that the rights of people are protected and participants are safe from harm.

The national public consultation is now open. The consultation is an invitation for anyone who is interested to provide comment.

Visit engage.dss.gov.au for further details. The closing date for submissions and other contributions is 30 April 2015.

Public meetings

The Australian Government Department of Social Services (DSS) will be holding face to face meetings in capital cities and in one regional location in each state and territory. Disability SA is working in partnership with DSS to host the two public meetings to be held in SA:

Location: ADELAIDE
Date: 25 March 2015

Location: WHYALLA
Date: 26 March 2015

Public meetings will be open to all interested groups including people with disability, families, carers, advocates and service providers.

Disability SA is keen to ensure that interested South Australians can engage in and contribute to the discussion about the proposed quality and safeguard measures.

Please visit the public meetings web page on the Engage website for further information.  More information about venues, times and how to register to attend these public meetings will be available in early March.

If you are unable to register online, please call the Disability SA Customer Information Line on 1300 786 117 for assistance. A Disability SA Customer Service Officer can make a registration on your behalf.

Questions about the consultation process can be directed to NDISqualitysafeguards@dss.gov.au.
